Doug brings a uniquely diverse professional background to the firm, with more than a decade of experience in media production followed by years of hands‑on legal support roles in both government and private practice.
Doug was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, where he worked in daily television production at Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood, leading research, photo editing, and fact‑verification projects for national broadcast programs. After relocating to Phoenix, he transitioned into legal work, serving in roles that included Legal Technician for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and administrative and litigation support roles for private law firms. His work has encompassed document review, federal and state electronic filings, calendaring, drafting, exhibit preparation, and coordination of depositions, mediations, and office operations.
Doug earned both his Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies (ABA‑approved program) and his Associate of Arts degree from Phoenix College, graduating with a 4.0 GPA and earning placement on the President’s Honor List. He is an active member of the Arizona Paralegal Association and the Maricopa County Bar Association Paralegal Division.
Before joining Houk Employment Attorneys, Doug also worked in roles involving election ballot processing, corporate documentation management, and litigation support for civil defense firms.
